BW Guirapá and Action.Wind - 2020

Objective: to develop a data analytics system for managing the post-operation of a wind complex.

BW Guirapá (FERBASA) is an energy generating company, located in Caitité-BA, using a plant of 92 wind turbines. Together with BW, Spin developed a wind complex management system (Action.Wind), which runs in the cloud or on a client’s server, providing reports and production bulletins on the web.

Action.Wind is an operation and maintenance support system, using machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to accumulate knowledge and “learn” from historical data. From there, providing important analyzes to assist in the post-operation, aiming at an intelligent management of wind complexes, enabling preventive and predictive maintenance of the production plant, with availability analysis, comparison between turbines, production, generation forecast and maintenance (MTTR, MTBF, failure prediction etc.).

The solution integrates with different sources of information (database, files and field equipment) from communication protocols, performing an extraction, transformation and loading process (ETL, Extract, Transform and Load), for then , make the data processed in dashboards available.

There are more than 70 dashboards, divided into 8 modules:

Action.Wind e BW: parceria de sucesso.

BW’s Director of Operations said he was very satisfied with the application of Action.Wind to his operation and claims to obtain information and perform analysis that were previously impossible. The system has even facilitated data analysis and the identification of anomalies and failures.

The tool has also helped in the technical-commercial relationship with equipment suppliers for preventive maintenance actions, many of which were only carried out after defects before the implementation of the system.
